Plaster cast reproduction of Donatello's famous sculpture 'Lo Zuccone', handmade by the Nicholas H Wood studio.

This is a cast taken from Donatello's 'Zuccone', commissioned for the bell tower of the Duomo in Florence. It's known for its realism and naturalism, which differed from most statuary commissioned at the time.

Being Donatello's favourite, he was said to have sworn by the sculpture, "By the faith I place in my Zuccone." Donatello is said to have shouted "speak, damn you, speak!" during the making of it. It has been described as the most important marble sculpture of the fifteenth century.

This piece has a hook attached on the back for hanging.

Dimensions: 31cm (height) x 15cm (width) x 10cm (depth).
